Many of our students choose to stay in a homestay, experiencing life in a British home. Spending a little time every day with a host- especially during meal times- is a great way to practise your English and make the most of your time here. It is also a very economical option for accommodation, starting at just £20.00 per night for a standard option including breakfast and dinner.
A homestay is, of course, not the same as a hotel. Please do not expect the customs and facilities to be the same as you might have back in your own country. As part of a homestay you will be expected to fit in with British customs and culture. There may be some elements of life that are not familiar to you, but this is all part of the experience! We can provide you with more information on how to help you adapt to the different surroundings at your homestay and to the cultural differences here in the UK.
Before you arrive in England you receive a profile of the homestay host that you are going to stay with. We also give the host some information about you. We ask you to contact your host and tell them your approximate arrival time in Broadstairs so that they can be home to welcome you. They will help you to settle in and explain the best way to come to school on your first day.
Your accommodation is booked from either ~Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday. Please note any late arrivals past 10.30pm are charged a supplementary fee of £20.
- If you decide to take a holiday during your course, you may be charged a room retainer fee or asked to change to different accommodation on your return. Please ask the school for details before booking your holiday.
The staff at LanguageUK are always here to help you and answer any questions you have about the homestay experience.
