Support & Advisory Services for students

Our student support team is part of LanguageUK who can provide support and advice to all students from the moment you arrive in the UK. We are on-hand to assist you throughout your time at LanguageUK and Broadstairs. We can provide specialist advice to international students on areas such as

    The Home Office categorises all the non-EU students under

    • Visa nationals
    • Non-visa nationals

    Applying for Visa irrespective of the duration of course before coming to UK is compulsory.

    Students staying for a period of 6 months or less in the UK can apply for Visa on arrival in the country. However, it is always recommended to apply for the Visa before arrival in the UK.

    Students staying for longer than 6 months have to apply for a Visa before arriving in the UK.

    Requirements for applying for Student Visitor Visa

    • You will need to prove that you are registered on a course of study.
    • You must okan to visit the UK for a maximum of 6 months and leave at the end of that period.
    • You will need to complete a Student Visit Visa application form.
    • Before a Student Visit Visa is granted you must be able to show that you also have enough money to support your stay in the UK.

  3. Insurance
  4. Please make sure you buy personal and medical insurance before leaving.

  5. Opening a bank account in the UK
  6. If you are staying with LanguageUK for 3 months or longer it would be advisable to open a UK bank account which may take up to 3 weeks. You will need the following items:

    • Passport
    • Proof of student status
    • Proof of address
    • Funds to set up an account

  7. Registering with the police
  8. Registering with the police is a request for some nationalities only. Please present the following documents at the time of registration with the police:

    • A valid passport and ID card
    • Two passport sized photographs of yourself
    • A letter of acceptance from LanguageUK

  9. Student “to-do list”

The student support is based at the school and available at anytime. If our students have any questions at all, we will be pleased to help them.

You will be provided with a student welcome pack on arrival at the school with more general information about living in the UK including health and welfare services.
